Our Journey
Since establishing the company Ian McKenna has grown McKenna Group into one of the leading electrical and mechanical contractors operating in the Scottish construction industry today.
It all started in 1998 when Ian started his own electrical company in Kirriemuir.
Initially he worked out of his house, but after 3 years had 15 members of staff working for him so rented an office in Kirriemuir before building and moving into McKenna Group’s current premises at Claverhouse Industrial Park, Dundee in 2018.
McKenna Mechanical Services (Scotland) was established in 2010 to offer clients the full electrical and mechanical package. This was followed by McKenna Fire and Security in 2012.
McKenna Group now have 80 staff members employed across our main divisions who operate from our headquarters in Dundee.

Our vision is to be recognised as Scotland’s leading electrical and mechanical contractor, through maintaining record high standards and always looking to improve our processes.

Our People

Our Apprentices
We have an award winning apprenticeship program we are extremely proud of which allows us to invest in young talent. We hire a minimum of 7 apprentices each year in different trades within the business.
Many of our apprentices who have come through the program have won apprentice of the year awards and have continued to develop their careers with our business, progressing into senior supervisor roles.
We believe apprentices are important not only to the future of our business but the future of our industry.
