A state-of-the-art nursery which will accommodate over 70 three to five year olds and 30 two year olds. It will employ 23 members of staff and include an open-plan play area, a quiet play area, children’s toilets, nappy changing facilities, and an accessible bathroom.
There will also be external play areas for the nursery’s older children and a plant room, along with three snack kitchens and a staff room. The design of the building has been carried out in a way to ensure that it is sustainable and eco-friendly. Security and the safety of the children is also front of mind with the property protected by two metres of fencing and CCTV cameras.
The entitlement to free early learning and childcare rising to 1140 hours for all three and four year olds, as well as eligible two years olds has led to an increased demand on council education facilities. The brand new property which will be built on the former site of Frances Wright Nursery will give younger children the best possible start in life, by providing them with a safe environment where they can explore and learn.
McKenna Group are delighted to be appointed as the main building services provider for this exciting and innovative project. The contract includes full Building Information Modeling (BIM) design along with the supply and installation of all electrical, mechanical, fire & security systems.
